You may have noticed that IRESC now has a new emblem.  This has been developed over a period of time and all credit goes to Ronimar PU3CVB, the IRESC Liaison Officer for Brazil, who created it.

The Venue, Date and Theme for GAREC-2010 have now been announced as follows:

GAREC will return to Region 2,  this time the Venue will be CURACAO.
The dates will be October 11-12, 2010.
The Theme of the Conference will be: "Learning through practicing".
The event will be organized in cooperation with DARES and VERONA.

The GAREC-process
THE MISSION: To get Amateur Radio operators to be better prepared for emergency communications and create practices for national and international levels. GAREC is for exchanging information and experiences between all Amateur Radio operators
and groups that are interested in EmComms.
THE VISION: To have regular world wide co-operation and understanding between Authorities and Amateur Radio Service in the field of EmComms.

 

MEMBERSHIP PARTICULARLY REQUIRED.  IRESC is particularly looking for members in the Caribbean Islands and Central/South America, or more generally anyone who has good ham radio coverage of 'Hurricane Alley'.  IRESC aims to assist those in need in forthcoming hurricane seasons - we wish to develop our Internet-Echolink gateways in this part of the world so that our language teams can communicate effectively in Spanish, Portuguese and English with the areas that are likely to be affected.  Anyone who lives in, or has contact with, these areas is invited to contact IRESC at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. INCIDENT DATABASE Links to the IRESC Incident Database.  It is the place where you can read the live information that has been submitted by both Members and the general public.  It opens in a separate window so that you can leave it available for viewing.  Please bear in mind that the database may contain personal and private information.

MAIL Links to the IRESC webmail server.  Please note that Supporters do not have access to this system at present, although it is intended that all classes of IRESC membership will enjoy an iresc.org email address in due course.  Webmail access is only enabled for those that request it.  IRESC prefers users to have their IRESC emails forwarded to a home account.

NCS CALENDAR Links to the online calendar where you can book a slot as Net Control Station on the *IRESC* Echolink conference.

FEEDS Links to a page of 'live' feeds from web sources that are of interest to IRESC.  In emergencies and particularly during IRESC Activations, refer to this page for up-to-the-minute reports.
